Common Symptoms to Indicate That You Have Bad Breath

Having bad breath is not fun; it's embarrassing, irritating, and can interfere with your career, your social life, and even your romantic relationships.  But what is unfortunate is that many people don't even know they have halitosis!  If you're not sure about your own breath, here are some common symptoms to indicate that you have bad breath.

First, it may seem strange but chronic and constant indigestion and constipation can be one of the common symptoms to indicate that you have bad breath.  Many people don't realize that when there are digestive problems, the excess bacteria in your system can make its way back to your throat and mouth in the form of gas, which also means bad breath.

You might not think of your upset stomach or acid reflux disease as being some of these common symptoms to indicate that you have bad breath but if you have a serious problem with these conditions or any other digestive disorders, you should consult your doctor not just for the sake of your breath but also for your health overall.  Chronic constipation can damage your lower intestine, acid reflux can lead to all sorts of damaging conditions to your esophagus, and other digestive disorders can also cause undue and excessive harm to your system.

The tastes you feel inside your mouth can also be common symptoms to indicate that you have bad breath.  For instance, if you have an acid taste, the taste of vomit, a constantly bitter taste, or any other unpleasant taste for any length of time, then you may very well have bad breath.  These tastes can escape your mouth when you exhale.  They can also be an indication of the digestive problems we've just mentioned.

When your mouth is dry this contributes to bad breath, and dry mouth or sticky feelings inside the mouth are also common symptoms to indicate that you have bad breath.  Germs stick to your mouth more easily when you have a lack of saliva, which helps to wash away these bad elements.  Dry mouth is the reason we have bad breath in the morning.

Of course you can always ask a friend or family member if you have a tendency toward bad breath, but sometimes they don't always notice it or may be hesitant to tell you.  So be mindful of these common symptoms to indicate that you have bad breath.
