Vinegar is useful in one’s diet and should be included in an overall healthy diet. There are many types of vinegar and one of them is considered by many to be a very good ingredient when dealing with bad breath. The vinegar we are talking about is apple cider vinegar.
Apple Cider Vinegar
This type of vinegar is also known as cider vinegar as it is made out of cider or apple must. You can easily purchase it unfiltered and it comes in the form of a brownish-yellow color. When used in cooking, it is usually combined with other ingredients. Honey is one hot favorite for combining with apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is very popular because many individual claims that it bears beneficial beauty and health properties.
Cider vinegar is high in acidity and can be caustic to the extent that sometimes it can even burn one’s throat. Because of this, few people use it straight. In most cases it will be diluted with fruit juice before drinking. Apple cider vinegar can come in the form of a pill which you must never take it while it is in this form because there have been several reports that it provokes acid chemical burns in the throat.
Apple cider vinegar also has different other qualities that make it so popular. It is actually more useful as an astringent than ice and can reduce inflammation, swelling and bruising in around one third of the time that ice takes. You can apply it directly on the skin with a flannel and leave it to act for around one hour. Apple cider vinegar is also considered a medical aid, which aids in cancer prevention and joint pain alleviation. There are different reports that also state that this type of vinegar has weight loss properties. This makes it very popular in different diets, both for loosing weight and looking younger.
Apple cider vinegar is just one of the many possible diet ingredients that can improve the individual’s breath. How it works is pretty interesting and indirect. You see, when you suffer from halitosis, it could be that you are not fully digesting your food and this is likely to be due to insufficient stomach acid. As such, food in your stomach is not broken down properly and foul gases are released through your mouth. What cider vinegar does is that it behaves like your stomach acid and helps to improve your body digestion process.
To try this method, you can consume one spoonful of apple cider vinegar with some water before lunch. Alternatively, you can add vinegar to meals of eggs, fish or meat. Another interesting method used by individuals is to gargle a solution of warm water and 2 teaspoons of this vinegar. Again, do be careful when consuming as I am sure you do want to end up with a burnt throat as highlighted above.
Unfortunately, as of now, there is still no conclusive evidence about the benefits vinegar has in curing bad breath although many individuals have sweared by it and some specialists have noticed cases that support this view. Whatever the case may be, I believe that there is enough social proof for any bad breath sufferer to give this a try. Depending on your condition, this may just be the solution you were looking for.
Always remember that you should consult your doctor before undergoing any major health treatments. This is because what works for one individual might not work for you. To be sure, you would probably have to undergo many tests and analysis to determine your underlying medical condition that causes bad breath. Only then, will your doctor be able to suggest the appropriate medical remedies or treatments for you. Your doctor is your best friend, at least in terms of medical issues. Hence you should aim to keep an open and honest relationship with your doctor so that he/she can be updated with your health issues and concerns and as such help you make the right decisions.
