Infections That Cause Bad Breath

There are a number of infections which can cause bad breath. Some of these infections include:

Chronic Lung Infection
Abscesses in the lungs can cause extremely foul breath.

Kidney Failure
If a person is experiencing kidney failure, then it can cause a bad breath infection which has a urine-like odor.

Liver Failure
An individual suffering from liver failure will experience halitosis, which can only be described as ‘fishy’.

Acid Reflux
Acid reflux is a condition related to stomach acid.  Chronic reflux of the stomach acids together with a slight protrusion of the stomach into the chest cavity can also result in bad smelling breath.

Diabetes
Diabetes is a condition which can worsen over time and cause bad breath problems in two different ways.  Firstly, the diabetes can weaken the immune system, which make it more difficult for the body to control the anaerobic bacteria which is ultimately responsible for bad breath.  And secondly, dehydration and a dry mouth can be suffered by patients with diabetes, which lowers the rate of saliva which is the body’s natural ability to fight bacteria which is responsible for bad breath.

Mouth, Nose and Throat Conditions

Sinus infections can cause halitosis, as the nasal discharge from the sinuses into the back of the throat can cause an odor in the mouth.  If a patient has tonsillitis, then this can cause bad breath until the throat infection clears.

Bronchitis

Bronchitis can be either acute or chronic.  Acute bronchitis is usually caused by a viral infection and usually only lasts for a few days.  It can result after you develop and sore throat or a cold, which will result in bad breath. Chronic bronchitis is diagnosed when an individual has too much phlegm in the airways, which results in a persistent cough, which can result in matter being coughed up from the lungs, and this is what will cause bad breath.

Pneumonia
This is an inflammation or infection of the lungs which is commonly caused by a virus or bacteria.  It is whereby the air sacs of the lungs are filled with pus, mucous and other liquids enabling the lungs to function correctly, which means that oxygen cannot reach the blood and cells of the body, which will in effect result in a foul odor of the breath.

Sjogren’s Syndrome
This is an autoimmune disorder whereby the immune cells attack and destroy the glands that produce tears and saliva.  The symptoms of this infection are dry eyes and a dry mouth, resulting in an odor of the breath.

Canker Sores
Canker sores are a small ulcer which can be found present on the lining of the mouth or on the tongue.  They are usually caused by a viral infection, and they can cause bad breath as they attract bacteria.  As with any viral infection, it is essential to clean and rinse the mouth with an antibacterial solution on a daily basis.

Here's one testimonial from one of their satisfied customers.
I never knew that my toothbrush had over 100 million germs on it. I'm not necessarily a germ freak, but when you read the articles and you hear about everything that is left on your toothbrush and them you're putting that toothbrush back in your mouth... People don't sanitize their toothbrushes because they don't know. After trying the Germ Terminator, people would say the same thing that I do, "Its easy, its convenient, why not use it after you know the research?" I think people should definitely sanitize their toothbrushes because of all the germs that just keep building and building up on your toothbrush. Using the Germ Terminator just makes sense.
